How to Choose Your Wedding Photographer

emilyexonphotonewFor most people, getting married is a once in a lifetime event. It is an experience that the couple will surely remember forever. One of the best ways in remembering the wedding celebration is through photos, thus the importance of getting a wedding photographer that will cover the momentous event. Since the wedding photographer will be the one capturing some of the most important aspects of the event, it is crucial that the wedding photographer you hire is well-experienced. If you know of any photojournalist in calgary you know and are assured that they are knowledgeable, well-experienced, and seasoned in the art of taking wedding photography.

When looking for a photographer, these days, thanks to the internet, you can always rely on search engines to find them. If a professional wedding photographer does not have his/her own website, they will at least have a Facebook Page where you can look at some of the shots they have done. When choosing a wedding photographer, it is vital that they would at least have covered a few weddings and have managed to get great results so far as. A great work will most likely be shown or published in their website or page to showcase how good they are. If not, it is likely that they are trying to hide some flaws of their work.

Price is often a determining factor when hiring a wedding photographer. However, it is crucial that you do not cheap out on this one as the photographs that will be taken on the event will become some of your cherished memories. This is why it is crucial that you do not settle for newbie or inexperienced wedding photographers.

A professional wedding photographer will offer packages. This will include prenuptial photo shoot, pre-wedding and wedding coverage, after-wedding photo shoot, video coverage of the event, and other types of additional. Once you have chosen a prospective photographer and have chosen a package you like, make sure that the photographer is insured with public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance as this serves as your overall protection as a client.

Aside from insurance, it is in your best interest that the photographer you are hiring does not have any other scheduled shoots during your day of the wedding as this may conflict his time with that of your wedding schedule. If they cover more than one wedding per day, it is better to walk away and choose another wedding photographer.

Carnations

My mom loves carnations, but honestly I’ve never been a big fan of them. That was until I started to see them like this! Carnations can look amazing when grouped together in big bunches like in the photos attached. Best thing about carnations is they are very inexpensive and can look fantastic and elegant for a wedding or shower.

Little packages of love

One of my favorite parts about going to weddings is seeing all the unique ways Brides and Grooms thank their guests for sharing their special day with them. Yes, that’s right – the favors. We’ve moved away from little rounds of tulle filled with candy coated almonds to just about anything you can think of. Candy, popcorn, candles, CDs, home-made chocolates, salt and pepper shakers, and the list goes on and on. But half the fun of it can be the packaging it comes in!!

One of my favorite stores in the city is Creative Packaging, which I’ve blogged about before. But today I accidentally landed on The Container Store. Usuallywhen I find these fun sites, they never seem to ship to Canada, so when I saw the little Canadian flag that said “now shipping to Canada” – you can only imagine how happy that made me!
One of my favorites is the Birch Veneer Wine Bottle Cylinder. What a unique way to present a host/hostess or a wedding guest with a bottle of wine. You could jazz it up with a monogram stamp or some colorful ribbon.
The Clear Handled Cases would be perfect to fill up with fun shades of OPI nail polish to present to all the ladies standing by your side as you plan your big day. Just think of how much fun it would be to be presented with a case full of fun colored nail polishes just in time for Spring and Summer!
Then there are all the different shapes, sizes and colors that the Amac boxes come in. You can find the perfect shape and color to package that special gift for your guests!
